Your first session shouldn't make you nervous. You don't need to be fit or know anything about boxing: you're there to learn. Here's what I recommend bringing.

What to bring

  • Comfortable sportswear you can move in.
  • Clean trainers with good grip.
  • A bottle of water and a towel.
  • Gloves and wraps if you already have them. If not, let me know when you book.

What we'll do

  • Talk about your goal, your experience and any injury or limitation to keep in mind.
  • Learn the guard and foot position.
  • Practise basic footwork.
  • Throw your first straight punches on the pads.
  • Finish with a conditioning block adapted to your level.

Tips

Eat something light a couple of hours before, arrive a few minutes early and don't worry about being perfect. Explaining every step is my job. If you have a medical condition, check with your doctor first.
