Starting boxing with no experience is easier than it looks. You don't need to be fit or have any background, just the will to learn.
Step 1: define your goal
Do you want to get fit, learn to defend yourself, gain confidence or really learn to box? Knowing this helps plan your training from day one.
Step 2: learn the basics
- Guard and foot position.
- Moving forward, back and sideways.
- Straight punches: jab and cross.
- First defensive movements.
Step 3: train with correction
It's easy to pick up bad habits early on. That's why I recommend starting with personal training: someone who corrects you on the spot and gives you a clear plan.
Step 4: be consistent
Training regularly beats training hard once. Every session builds on the last, and you'll notice progress sooner than you think.
What about sparring?
It's not mandatory. You can learn and enjoy boxing without hard sparring. If you ever want to try it, we prepare gradually and safely.
